Hollywood Forever Cemetery
If I lived in Hollywood I would spend every weekend of my summer at the Hollywood Forever Cemetary. No I’m not a wannabe goth vampire type, they screen films there throughout the summer projected up on the crematorium wall.

History
The Cemetery was founded in 1899 but by the end of the 20th century it had become run down and in need of renovation. It was on the verge of closure when Tyler Cassity of Forever Enterprises bought it in 1998 and renamed it “Hollywood Forever”
Among the forever Hollywood graves are: Johnny Ramone, Dee Dee Ramone, Charlie Chaplain Jr, Estelle Getty and Jayne Mansfield.

It’s the perfect eerie setting for a summer film. Hundreds of people gather with deck chairs, blankers, pizza, beer etc and watch a whole range of films. I went last summer when they played “Bullitt” and had an amazing time. Although the film wasn’t completely my thing, I found the atmosphere was more than enough. The car chases and music together with a whooping crowd was so much fun! They even changed their line up upon the very sad news that John Hughes had passed away to play the classic Ferris Beuller.

It’s an absolute must if you find yourself in Hollywood this year!
Line ups will be put up on their website: http://www.cinespia.org/
Oh, I also saw the latest Yeah Yeah Yeah’s video recently and could tell straight away where it was filmed. Really haunting song so the setting is perfect. Set your eyes here: http://www.babelgum.com/4022902/yeah-yeah-yeahs-skeletons.html
Sorry I would embed it but it’s all silly like that but please watch!
